Tip #166: Let’s Talk About The Employees

Possible buyer of a business looking at the employees arranged in a prison lineup. Getting a full understanding of the employee situation is critical in the purchase of a business, so there are a number of key questions buyers will ask. They will want to see a list showing their title and/or job description, how long they have been employed, their salaries, when they received their last raise, benefits, and the chances of them staying or leaving after the sale. Also are there any positions that need filling — the list goes on and on. And buyers might want to talk to the employees which oftentimes can be done but not until both parties agree on a deal.
